The Egyptian Premier League will continue on 7 August, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) declared on Thursday, after very nearly five months of suspension due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In an announcement distributed on the EFA's site, top of the Competitions Committee Hossam El-Zanati said the season will initially restart with the delayed games and that they will before long declare the calendar on two stages.

"The primary stage will incorporate the games booked to be played from 7 August until the month's end, and it will be uncovered when we arrive at a ultimate choice viewing Aswan SC arena as the club mentioned to play its games in Cairo," he said.

Aswan is found some 700km south of Cairo in Upper Egypt and the club declared the players will be increasingly worn out making such a long excursion, particularly with the normal occupied timetable.

"The second period of the games are planned to be played beginning from 1 September until the finish of the period. This will be reported not long after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) chooses the last dates of the semi-finals and finals of the African Champions League and the Confederation Cup," El-Zanati included.

Sports exercises have been suspended since mid-March due to the coronavirus, yet the legislature has chosen to permit sports to continue beginning 20 June, giving the green light for the EFA to continue its rivalries starting at 25 July.

The EFA and the Ministry of Youth and Sports have executed another arrangement of rules for careful steps including testing, preparing and clinical safety measures. The EFA has just settled its clinical tests for the greater part of the clubs including players, coaches and representatives. A few groups have just begun trainings.

The EFA declared a week ago that from among all tests, 19 people went to be sure and are presently in detachment as per the convention.

Prior to the current suspension of football exercises, holders Ahly were driving the alliance table with 49 focuses in the wake of playing 17 matches.
